My groups are guided therapy groups for women addressing issues around sexual abuse. Members are required to be in individual therapy in order to join the group. Topics in the group include recognizing the effects of sexual abuse, family of origin issues, current relationship issues, boundaries, recognizing addictive and self harmful behaviors, body image issues, healthy coping skills, and other related topics. I strive to keep the groups diverse in order to include people at different levels of recovery. For more information regarding my groups, please contact me by e-mail or phone.

Taking a step towards confronting our problems can be terrifying. Group therapy is a powerful way to break through the shame and isolation that often accompany this process. In a group, we learn that we are not alone, and that we belong. We learn how to support each other, and how to let others help us. Groups offer the healing gift of community. I am currently offering a therapeutic group for women survivors of interpersonal trauma that is mostly unstructured, though special effort is made to address safety, guilt/shame, triggers, embodied experience, coping strategies, dissociation, self-esteem, negotiating consent, and boundary-setting.

Based on Dr. Colin Ross’s Trauma Model, the goal of the Trauma Recovery Group is to help you improve day-to-day functioning. This group focuses on helping participants to live effectively in the present, not on the recovery of repressed memories. The group will help stabilize participants by identifying conflicts and unlearning specific distortions related to the effects of the trauma they have experienced and replacing them with new tools learned in the group setting. Participants will move toward the ultimate healing of interpersonal forgiveness and grief. This group is Christian-based; however, those of all faiths and traditions are welcomed.
